Parallel challenge: 5k

“Hi, my name is Jasper. I have had mild cerebral palsy from birth. I am driving some of the Parallel London 5k in my electric chair and running some with a helping hand from Laurie, my brother.

“I am running it for Treloar's, which has helped me so much over the years. They have helped me with everything from my physical ability to my speech device. For example, when I started four years ago I could hardly get up steps, but now because of the Treloar's physiotherapy I can, which is great.

“Another achievement Treloar's has helped me with is Boccia. I’d never heard of Boccia before I started and now I compete nationally.

“I am doing Parallel London because it sounds like great fun and I can raise money for my amazing school, which has helped me achieve more than I would have ever imagined.”

My top tip: “Take losing as a chance to evaluate your performance.”
